What “Founder-friendly Devshop” means for Maryland
Maryland has two very different technology economies: a federal cybersecurity and intelligence cluster around Fort Meade that is effectively closed to us, and a life sciences corridor around Bethesda and Baltimore that is not. Knowing which one a project belongs to is the first question.
What shapes software projects in Maryland
The local conditions we design around, rather than a generic pitch.
- The federal cybersecurity and intelligence concentration around Fort Meade requires clearances and US person status, excluding offshore delivery.
- The Bethesda and Rockville corridor hosts major federal health research agencies and a substantial biotech community around them.
- Johns Hopkins anchors a significant medical research and hospital system in Baltimore.
- Federal contracting culture shapes procurement expectations even in adjacent commercial work.
Why teams in Maryland pick Kiebot
- Senior architect on day one, no junior-only pods
- Fixed-cost MVP option, weekly working demos
- Documented handover so the codebase is never a black box
- You own the IP, fully, from commit one
How an engagement with Maryland actually runs
Time zones, working weeks and who you sign with. Kiebot has people in India and the UAE; work for other markets is delivered from India.
- Maryland is Eastern Time, UTC-5, UTC-4 in daylight saving, so India is 9.5 to 10.5 hours ahead. Your 8am is our 6:30pm.
- An overlap shift covers your morning, the most workable US window we have.
- Contracting from India or through Kiecore Technologies LLC in Dubai. No US entity, no clearances, no FedRAMP authorisation.

Frequently asked questions
Can you do any federal work here?+
Realistically no. Federal work typically requires clearances, US person status, and often FedRAMP authorised infrastructure, none of which we have. That closes most of the Fort Meade and agency-adjacent market to us. Commercial life sciences and healthcare work is a different matter and is where we would focus.
What can you do in life sciences?+
Clinical and research data platforms, which is directly what ArcaAI is: an AI-powered clinical records backend with HIPAA-aligned pipelines, encryption and structured coding. We sign business associate agreements. What we do not do is GxP validation work for pharmaceutical manufacturing, which needs a specialist validation practice.
Does federal procurement culture affect commercial projects?+
It raises documentation expectations noticeably. Buyers here often expect the artefacts a federal process would require: security documentation, data-flow diagrams, defined acceptance criteria and staged sign-off. We can provide those, and it is worth agreeing what is actually needed rather than producing a federal-grade pack for a commercial project.
