How does BIPA affect what we can build?+
Significantly, and it is one of the few US laws we would raise before being asked. Biometric identifiers, face geometry, fingerprints, voiceprints, require written consent and a published retention schedule, and the private right of action means mistakes are litigated rather than negotiated. The safest engineering answer is usually to avoid storing biometric identifiers at all, or to keep them on-device. We would push that design before building a system that holds them.
Do you do low-latency trading work?+
No, and Chicago is the wrong place to bluff about it. Low-latency trading engineering is a specialism with its own tooling, hardware and measurement culture, and we have not worked in it.
