What “Staff Augmentation / Outstaffing” means for France

France runs on its own technology sovereignty logic. SecNumCloud qualification, CNIL enforcement that is genuinely active, and a strong preference in public and para-public buying for French suppliers all shape what an external engineering partner can realistically do here. The honest fit is private sector product work.

What shapes software projects in France

The local conditions we design around, rather than a generic pitch.

  • CNIL is among the more active data protection regulators in Europe, and its guidance on cookies, analytics and transfers has repeatedly forced real product changes.
  • SecNumCloud qualification and the wider cloud de confiance policy steer sensitive public and regulated workloads toward qualified French providers.
  • B2B e-invoicing reform is phasing in, with Factur-X as the hybrid format, so invoice handling is a live roadmap item for anyone selling to French businesses.
  • The startup ecosystem is concentrated and well supported, with Station F in Paris and the La French Tech network, and it operates in a noticeably more international, English-comfortable way than the wider economy.
  • The Comité Social et Économique plays a consultation role in many companies when working arrangements change, similar in effect to German works councils.

Why teams in France pick Kiebot

  • Vetted senior engineers join your existing squad
  • Guaranteed 4+ hours of working-day overlap
  • Kiebot handles contracts, payroll, replacements, and HR overhead
  • Single MSA, transparent monthly invoicing

How an engagement with France actually runs

Time zones, working weeks and who you sign with. Kiebot has people in India and the UAE; work for other markets is delivered from India.

  • Paris is UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer, leaving India 4.5 hours ahead in winter and 3.5 in summer. The French morning overlaps our afternoon fully.
  • Monday to Friday on both sides. August is genuinely quiet in France, and we plan release schedules around that rather than pushing into it.
  • Contracting from India or through Kiecore Technologies LLC in Dubai. No French entity, and no SecNumCloud qualification.
  • We work in English. For teams whose engineering conversation happens in French, that is a real constraint and worth weighing first.

Work we can point to for France

Named, public engagements. We would rather show you a relevant project than claim a local client we do not have.

  • Veetee: a live direct-to-consumer commerce platform we build and run across two markets, including semantic search, recommendations and a conversational assistant in production.
  • ArcaAI: an AI-powered clinical records backend on AWS serverless with encryption and structured clinical coding, a useful reference for data-sensitive French buyers.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work on SecNumCloud or sovereign workloads?+

No. SecNumCloud qualification applies to the hosting provider and we are not qualified, nor are we a French entity. For workloads that must sit on qualified infrastructure we would at most be an engineering partner alongside a qualified host, and even then some buyers will require a French supplier outright. Better to know that now.

How do you handle CNIL expectations?+

By building the technical controls that make compliance demonstrable: consent handling that actually gates processing, analytics configured for the guidance rather than against it, PII minimisation, and audit logs that show who accessed what. CNIL has shown it will act on cookie and transfer practice specifically, so those get attention early rather than at launch.

Will language be a problem?+

It depends entirely on your team. We work in English. French product companies with international teams usually run in English already and integrate smoothly. If your tickets, code comments and standups are in French, adding English-only engineers changes your team’s working language, and that is a bigger decision than the engagement itself.
